The Man (Trump) Can’t ...

No need to rehash yesterday’s events.

My Mom’s choice of adjectives was “disgraceful.” I’d say that nicely covers it.

What was Trump’s answer to the storming of the White House? A tweet (naturally).

Because Twitter had locked down Trump’s account for his incendiary behavior, he had to use the account of one of his minions, Dan Scavino, to tweet out the following words:

Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!

All I can think about is the movie “Carnage” (based on the French play “Le Dieu du carnage“) where the parents force their child to apologize to another kid for punching him in the face. The child doesn’t want to apologize. He doesn’t buy into the apology. But the overarching power of his parents leads the child to conclude that his best course of action is to go forward with the apology, quarter-hearted as it may be, and the episode will dissipate so he can get on with his life.

That’s how Trump views his latest missive.

The pestering from his advisors reached the point that Trump decided he had to say something to make his advisors back off.

Well played Mr. President.

Might I say that tweet was the greatest tweet from a delusional president in our nation’s history.

And yes, you will go down in history.
