Mother’s Day Special: PR ...

MENU

I gave my Mom plenty of storytelling fodder as a youngster.

It’s not like the trajectory of my youth marked me as a potential felon.

But I did prefer to ignore rather than test parental boundaries which caused some heartburn from the Mom.

With Mother’s Day around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to switch roles. No more “Where you were young man last night until two in the morning.”

This time I would be the one asking the questions.

To bastardize a Bill Cosby line, “Moms do say the darndest things.”

Here’s the short video that captures the interview highlights (you’ll likely need to turn up the volume):

Obviously, the branding campaign around my blog needs some work.

Thanks Mom for being a good sport.

You’re the best!

Happy Mother’s Day.

Note I: I would like to thank my videographer, Jerry Hoffman, who shot the video with his iPhone, Jacqueline Meyler for her video editing role and Chauncey Hill for art direction. Yes, it takes a village to raise a mom (on video).

Note II: If you’re kind enough to share this on your social channels, please use #PRMom.

    Awesome!

    “My son . . . he could’ve been a doctor, a lawyer, a professor. Instead, he’s some schmaltzy PR guy . . . ”
(Paraphrased from an old Hoffman Agency ad).

    Very funny.

Thanks Jamie. Now, there’s a walk down nostalgia lane. That my phrase “My son, he could have been a doctor or lawyer …” came from the announcement of the Agency back in 1987.

P.S. You should’ve asked her about the SJ Sharks — and how she would fix their playoff losing . . .

Actually, I did ask her that question, but her answer wasn’t amusing so it ended up on the editing floor. She said it’s time to break up the Thorton/Marleau core.
